A public and private partnership, the Dayton Development Coalition focuses on supporting job creation and prosperity for the citizens of the Day
ton region. The coalition’s primary focus is building on greater Dayton’s world-class reputation for research and development in advanced materials—and commercializing and manufacturing the products of tomorrow.
To support this mission, the Dayton Development Coalition has received Third Frontier funding from the Ohio Department of Development. Combined with local investments, this gives the coalition $22.5 million to help new and existing technology-based companies create jobs and bring innovative technologies to market.

In April 2007, representatives of 15 research institutions from throughout the state came together to form the University Clean Energy Alliance of Ohio (UCEAO), in recognition of the importance of advanced energy development and deployment to the state of Ohio and the nation. As an advocate for research and education, a source of technical expertise, and a sponsor of substantive dialogue, UCEAO is committed to developing programs that take alternative energy technologies to the next level through partnerships with government, businesses, non-profit organizations, and trade associations.
This is a critical time in Ohio - state and federal government initiatives have laid the foundation for significant accomplishments in the area of advanced and renewable energy. UCEAO is uniquely positioned to build on that strong foundation through research, graduate and undergraduate education, workforce training, and projects that lead to economic development.

Led by the University of Dayton, the Institute for the Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology (IDCAST) is a world-class center of excellence in remote sensing and CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive) sensing technology. IDCAST was established by a $28 million Ohio Third Frontier grant to bring this technology to market. IDCAST works in collaboration with academia, the Air Force Research Laboratory and industry.
